Have you ever wanted to try woodworking but need help knowing where to start? If so, Woodworking 101 might be just for you! In this workshop, Mechanic and Flowers will guide participants through the woodshop, focusing on power and hand tools. Participants will become acquainted with the woodshop while learning empowering skills that can last a lifetime. While creating a one-of-a-kind object, participants will learn techniques including design, marking, measuring, milling, assembly, and finishing. This class is for folks who have yet to gain experience, as well as those who have some experience but want a space to ask questions and push their skills.

Who should apply: All applicants should have little to no woodworking experience and must identify as historically excluded or under-represented in the field of woodworking.

Type of Class:  These are Scholarship Seats in an existing class, which means that a limited number of students will be selected through The Chairmaker’s Toolbox. To learn more read the CMT Class FAQ page.
